How To Clean Oil After Blown Head Gasket

1. I have a 2005 v6 Tacoma,
I recently had a recent blown head gasket my acme ones, simply changed all of them already. It was my failure not to change my ignition coils in time, and then the pressure congenital up at get-go blew out my head gasket. At present, Subsequently all my gasket been changed, new water pump, timing chain, cylinder caput machined, bearing, rod, so forth. I notwithstanding have some left over coolant in my oil. How would I clean out my oil system, and so i tin remove the left over coolant. Should I drain, then keep the bleed plug; unplugged then cascade a bottle of motor oil to wash it out? Aid me out guys!

I believe seafoam is made for getting former oil sludge/carbon out, not coolant. idk if that would help though.

Process for Cleaning Glycol from Engines
A flushing process proposed by one major oil visitor to remove glycol from engine internal surfaces involves the use of Butoxy-Ethanol (trade name Butyl Cellosolve, Wedlock Carbide). The flushing procedure for conditions of less than five percent glycol contamination is summarized below:
1. Drain oil from compartment and all lines and components.
2. Install new filter elements.
3. Mix an ISO VG 32 R&O mineral oil l/50 with Butyl Cellosolve.
4. Use the mixture to turbulently affluent (using an external pump installed at the turbocharger supply line or other suitable pumping method) internal surfaces by ample flow and volume for ane hour at a temperature not less than lxx°F (21°C). (non sure how you lot would accompish this without running the motor)
5. Drain the organization completely, mop out crankcase and supplant filters.
six. Repeat steps ii through five, using a sixty per centum R&O 32, twoscore percent kerosene mixture.
seven. Remove and inspect all main bearings, journals and other engine surfaces.
viii. Remove the external pump and recharge with the correct lubricant. Supplant the filter.
nine. Monitor the engine carefully until all conditions stabilize.

Seafoam, or a canteen of atf fluid, you can't run if for long, like less than 200 miles. Same goes for seafoam, don't desire to let it sit in your oil, Run it at the end of the oil change. Y'all can likewise pull the oil pan.

If information technology were me I'd probably driblet the pan and affluent a court through the tiptop, permit it sit overnight with the pan off. And so in the morning I'd fill information technology upwards with 4.v quarts of oil and a courtroom of ATF (but for shits and gigs), run information technology for a couple days so drain and refill with inexpensive oil. And so afterward some other couple days I'd drain that into a clean container and check the condition of the oil. Chances are I'd call it good. Chances are you're good after the first modify.

Run your truck for a couple of hundred miles then alter your oil and filter again. Anything more than involved than this isn't actually necessary and isn't worth the time.
